The Casino RSM Under 19 Bulls were defeated by the Wollongbar Pioneers last Saturday in the Far North Coast Zone Rugby Union grand final held at Crozier Oval, Lismore
The Bulls went down 13-12 in a very close game.
The Bulls were unlucky during the game when they had one try disallowed and two attempts deemed to be held up over the line.
Both teams scored two tries each during the tight struggle and at full time only one point separated the two teams.
It was a tremendous effort by the young Bulls players to come from fourth position to the grand final.
Throughout the year tremendous defensive efforts and dominant forward play were the backbone of this yount team. However on saturday the young Bulls also showed their backline flare by attacking out wide on several occasions.
Bulls hooker Cal McLennan said after the game that while the players were disappointed, they were already looking forward to next year.
"It would have been good to win but we are now looking forward to next year and hopefully we might be able to be involved in winning a First Grade grand final," he said.
