gh2_runnerblackandwhite300On times, little separates the three heat winners of the Blue Paws Super Series that were conducted last Friday. Late Kooringa won the opening heat for Mitch Northfield when he led all of the way to run 27.94. He held off the fast finishing Flaming Grace to score by 3/4 length. The "in form" Pretty Norris then ran 27.95 to win the second run off after kicking well clear in the back straight. Charlie Northfield trains him.

Jeff Smith's Goarder rounded off the heats with a 27.94 victory. He got up on the line to win by a head. The all important box draw will hold the key to this week's final, that, with Blue Paws Bonuses adds up to a neat $5,000.

Tregeagle conditioner Pat Lavis continued his recent run when he landed a double. Peg Rose Hi crossed straight to the lead from box eight and was never headed in winning the Westlawn Free For All in 27.89, whilst Jake Rose Hi came back after being headed to win the Ranvet stake in 23.66. Pat trains these greyhounds for Trevor Thompson who also landed a winner with Albert Rose Hi who squeezed through a narrow gap at the first turn before racing away. He ran 23.33 in winning by four lengths.

Form followers from last week would have landed the Exacta, when Snitcher again relegated Oh My Papa into second place. The Allan Lang trained Snitcher took up the running and on the wire had 6 1/2 lengths to spare clocking 36.25.

Pretty Maliaka also made it two in a row at Casino when she took out the sprint Free For All in hollow fashion. She was an all of the way winner in 23.33 for Frank Hancock.

Alkali gave Ryan Newstead his first winner at Casino in a while when she won the opening maiden in 23.70, while Talahatchi followed up his good form from the Coonamble Carnival to win the Charcoal Inn stake in a fast 23.08.

John Pay seems to land a winner every week he ventures down from the Banana state, and Gemz continued that trend running 23.56, while Pop Northfield maiden finalist Watch Me Burn won the 484 metre maiden in 27.92 for Terry Guymer.

Finally, congratulations to Tyson Barton and all of the team connected with the win of So Seductive in the rich Bold Trease Cup at Sandown last Thursday. Another locally bred greyhound that has made it to the "big time".
